2007 GCABA
Induction Ceremony and Banquet
“This was the best one yet”, was the statement overheard by several board members regarding the 2007 banquet ceremony. The food was great and the atmosphere, as always, was very classy. There was even a little comic relief when inductee Dave Norris did his impression of Cheryl Stoiber and her “direct” method in dealing with league players. He then brought the roof down impersonating Shelley Hudson and her “feminine” side. Gary Knight did his imitation of a seal balancing a chair on his chin. When he commented about his ability to rattle off non-stop jokes, Steve Helline added from the audience, “Yeh, but we’re still waiting for one good one!” As always, Johnny Ray gave a very inspirational opening for Mr. Frank Beane and Joe Donofrio was humble despite his legend. Male Player of the Year Brian Frank was in Italy for business and unavailable but presented the audience with a smartly scripted video revolving around some shots on a pool table. The banquet closed with the 50/50 raffle. Jim Wayne owned the winning ticket and received a round of applause when he graciously handed his share of the $300 to Doug Nauer for the Shelbi Martin Pool Benefit.
