Persons may be inducted into the Hall of Fame for achievement (skill), meritorious, or both achievement and meritorious reasons. The Greater Canton Amateur Billiard Association, (herein referred to as GCABA) has sole authority in determining who shall be inducted.

Persons inducted shall be derived from a list of nominations cast from charter organizations and individuals. While the GCABA may induct nominated players for any reason, the following may be used as a guideline in determining whether a person should be nominated:

If the nomination is based on achievement reasons, the person must have lived and played pool as an amateur in the Stark County area. Further, the nominee should have placed in the standings a certain number of times commensurate with the level of difficulty of the event. For example, a nominee should have finished a combination of either first, second or third place a number of times in local leagues or tournaments, first one time in a non-handicapped regional event or placed high in a non-handicapped national event. Persons may also be nominated based on their accomplishments in the categories of high average, most valuable player, most runs (e.g.. 9-Ball or 8-Ball) or high run (e.g.. Straight Pool).

If the nomination is based on meritorious reasons, the person must have lived and contributed to the sport of pool in the Stark County area. Deceased or inactive players may be nominated based on honorary reasons if their skills were legendary and cannot be substantiated. For example, their achievements were never officially documented or the documentation is no longer available. Persons may be nominated because of their overwhelming personal service, sponsorship or other resources which they contributed to the good of the sport. The amount of a nominees personal service or sponsorship for meritorious reasons should have been substantial to the extent that it contributed significantly to the promotion of the sport of pool.

The above is only a guideline and not be construed as anything more than that. The sport of pool includes all games played on a pool table, billiard table or snooker table. Nominees may be living or deceased, active or inactive (retired) players, male or female, individual or team.  All individuals must have at least fifteen years of participation in organized play.  Males and females must be at least 50 years of age and 40 years of age respectively.
